Ways and means projects
Membership Obligations: TH&SC is a working club.
All members shall equally share the responsibility for the operation, maintenance
and the carrying out of special projects and improvements.
Members are obliged to perform work equivalent to 2 days (16 hours) annually
in addition to their 4-hour OOD requirement.

- CRADLE PLACING – URGENT CONSIDERATION REQUIRED
This job has been expertly handled by Marguerite Ethier for many years and now she has to pass this onto a new volunteer. This is a vitally important job and is a great opportunity to use your planning skills. There are a number of experienced members who assist every year and make the job run smoothly. Marguerite will be available to provide information and advice to ensure a seamless transition.
- OFFICE:
Replace loose ceiling tiles.
- COFFEE MACHINE:
Move from current position on the bar to rear counter to the left of the television. The machine is connected to a 14 amp power supply that will need to be moved as well. Do not connect to the existing wall power outlet as it is in inadequate.
- BAR STOOLS AND DINING ROOM CHAIRS:
Many of these wobble when sat on. Install new chair leg pads as necessary.
- FAN/LIGHT PULLS IN 3RD FLOOR TV LOUNGE:
Replace as necessary with new longer chains that members can actually reach.
- FRONT GATE SIGN:
There is a new club sign stored in the 3rd floor tv lounge. Remove old sign and install.
LAUNDRY ROOM:
Repaint floor.
- LADIES NORTH WASHROOM
- Replace showerhead in left cubicle. The new one is in cupboard under the basin.
- Fix leak under the same basin.
- Scrape layex paint of shower cubicle walls, it’s practically falling off. Repaint with waterproof enamel.
- Ceiling vent above w/c is loose; re-attach.
- LADIES SOUTH WASHROOM (Behind bar)
- Replace the basin. A new one is there ready to install, this is a simple d.i.y. hook up, so long as you turn the water supply off.
- Power outlet by the basin does not have a circuit breaker. This must be replaced a.s.a.p. to comply with by-laws.
- FIRE EXIT SIGNS;
Check bulbs and replace as necessary.
- PATIO AREA
Join Capt Dot’s group who are doing a great job of keeping our main outdoor social area looking great. Meet people you may not already know and get some “hours” under your belt.
- BARBEQUES
Always hours to be earned as cleaning is required on a regular basis. Cabana also needs to be kept free of cobwebs, leaves etc.
